President Jokowi Orders 1 Million MSME to Enter E-Catalog this Year

Jokowi is targeting 40% of the budget for goods and services in ministries/agencies, SOEs and local governments to be allocated to buy local products from Indonesian MSME.

President Jokowi ordered 1 million onboarding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to be included in the e-catalog of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) this year.

MSME onboarding is an effort to empower MSMEs online by utilizing the development of internet technology and digitalization.

"The target of 1 million MSMEs for onboarding, to enter the LKPP e-catalog must be completed completely this year," said Jokowi when giving a speech at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs virtually from the Merdeka Palace, Monday (05/18/2019). 28/3/2022).

Jokowi reminded that this target should not be achieved. This is because Jokowi has reminded regional heads, both governors, regents and mayors, ministers and institutional leaders, the main director of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), to use the budget to buy domestic products.

President Jokowi also stated that the number of MSME that have digital onboarding, entering the marketplace and to digital platforms by 2022 must reach the target of 20 million.

"At least 20 million. And, increase to 24 million next year, and to 30 million in 2024. This is the target. God willing, we can all do it," he said.

The number of modern digital-based cooperatives must also continue to be increased, from 250 cooperatives in 2022 to 400 in 2023, and 500 later in 2024.

Jokowi is targeting 40% of the budget for goods and services in ministries/agencies, SOEs and local governments to be allocated to buy local products from Indonesian MSMEs. The target must be achieved by the end of May. (Among)
