NII Called Searching for Terrorism Funds from Charity Boxes to Fintech Services

Moeldoko called NII the mastermind behind almost every terrorism in Indonesia.

Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko said the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) was raising funds for terrorism through charity boxes and fintech services.

Moeldoko said the funds raised would be channeled to the international terrorism movement. Then, the funds were used for acts of terrorism in Indonesia.

"There are efforts to raise funds through charity boxes, through fintech. We must open our eyes that all need to be vigilant," said Moeldoko via video, Friday (22/4).

Moeldoko accused NII of being the mastermind behind almost every terrorism in Indonesia. In fact, he said that NII had been actively involved in terror since the 2000s.

He added that NII was behind the Bali Bombings and masterminded the bombings at the United States Embassy in 2004 and the Book Bombings in 2011.

He asked the public to continue to be vigilant against the threat of NII. Moeldoko asked the public to stop the movement of the NII before it had a bad impact on Indonesia.

Moeldoko also warned the public that NII had infiltrated the state civil apparatus (ASN) to students.

Moeldoko said that NII currently has a different strategy from the era of Kartosoewirjo and Kahar Muzakkar.

According to him, today's NII does not always move through armed resistance. NII moves to seek sympathy. One of the techniques applied by NII is the pledge of allegiance or oath of allegiance. (setpres, cnnindo)
