The economic price of Solar is IDR 17,600 per liter, the current selling price for subsidized diesel is IDR 5,150 per liter.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said the economic price of subsidized diesel fuel and Pertalite was already above Rp 17,000 per liter.
"The economic price of Pertalite alone is IDR 17,200 per liter, until now the government is still setting the selling price of Pertalite at IDR 7,650 per liter," said Arifin at the ESDM Ministry, Friday (28/8).
As for Solar, the economic price is Rp 17,600 per liter, the current selling price for subsidized diesel is Rp 5,150 per liter.
Arifin said that the state budget burden was very large for Pertalite because it had to patch up Rp. 9,000 and for Solar, it was almost Rp. 12,000 per liter.
It is predicted that this figure will continue to rise, given the steady decline in world oil prices. The geopolitical situation and winter in Europe affected the global supply of crude oil. Also, OPEC's plan to cut production will allow world oil prices to stay above 100 US dollars per barrel.
