President Jokowi Asks Speculation about the three terms to no longer appear.
President Jokowi emphasized that the election will be held according to the schedule, namely February 14, 2024.
Meanwhile, the simultaneous regional head elections (pilkada) will be held on 27 November 2024.
Jokowi conveyed this when giving directions at the coordination meeting for the preparation of the 2024 Simultaneous General Election and Regional Head Elections today.
"All stages and schedules for holding elections and simultaneous regional elections have been determined. I think it's clear, everyone already knows that the elections will be held on February 14, 2024. I ask that this be conveyed to the public," Jokowi said in a video recording on the State Secretariat's YouTube account, Sunday (10/01). 4).
Jokowi added that it was important to convey this because the government should not be accused of wanting to delay the election or trying to extend the president's term of office.
"This needs to be explained. Do not let speculation appear that the issue is circulating in the community that the government is trying to postpone the election or speculation about the extension of the president's office and also related to 3 terms," said Jokowi.
"Because it is clear that we have agreed that the elections will be held on February 14 and the elections for November 2024, everything is clear," Jokowi continued.
