Boy said thousands of children were often the butt of anti-Pancasila propaganda on social media.
The head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Pol Boy Rafli Amar said around 2,000 Indonesian children left for Iraq and Syria due to exposure to radical ideas. They are exposed to propaganda that often spreads on social media (medsos).
Boy said these thousands of children were often the butt of propaganda on social media, so that many of them had goals that were contrary to the ideology of Pancasila.
"Because of the propaganda through social media, there are more than 2,000 of our nation's children who went to Iraq and Syria for a purpose (which) we as Indonesians shouldn't have taken," said Boy, Monday (20/6/2022)
Boy said that some of the children who had left for Iraq and Syria carried out acts beyond the boundaries, even to the point of carrying out acts of terror such as suicide bombings.
"The phenomenon of the nation's children being suicide bombers is a very unfavorable condition, of course something that is very detrimental to the nation's children," he explained.
Boy noted that there were 650 propaganda content containing anti-NKRI messages. Thus, his party continues to enforce Cyber Patrols to reduce the number of intolerant actions.
Boy said that the patrol was a step to anticipate the spread of the caliphate concept that was rife in Indonesia, one of which was the Khilafatul Muslimin group.
The patrol was held after the police arrested 23 suspected Khilafatul Muslimin. Furthermore, Boy revealed, there were 650 propaganda content that contradicted the Pancasila ideology. Including, containing anti-NKRI messages, anti-Pancasila, intolerance, takfiri, content related to funding and training, to glorifying the ideology of the caliphate. (bnpt, antara)
