18 Hours of Ethics Trial, Ferdy Sambo Officially Fired from the Police

Ferdy Sambo has committed a disgraceful act that violates seven police ethics codes.

After nearly 18 hours, the Police Code of Ethics Commission finally issued a decision regarding the case of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

The National Police Ethics Commission has officially dismissed the former Head of the Profession and Security Division (Propam) Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo from the National Police.

Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was proven to have violated ethics. Ferdy Sambo, among others, became the mastermind of premeditated murder, and obstructed the process of revealing his crimes.

Based on the statements of 15 witnesses and suspected violators, the code of ethics trial panel stated that Ferdy Sambo had committed a disgraceful act that violated seven Polri codes of ethics.

The decision was read by Komjen Pol Ahmad Dofiri, Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency as chairman of the code of ethics session, at the National Police Headquarters Building, South Jakarta. The trial lasted for about 18 hours from Thursday (25/8/2022) morning, until Friday (26/8/2022) early this morning.

“Ethical sanctions, namely the perpetrator of the violation is declared a disgraceful act. Administrative sanctions in the form of placement in a special place at the Brimob Corps Detention Center for four days from August 8 to 12, 2022. Imposing sanctions in the form of Disrespectful Dismissal as a member of the Police, "said Komjen Pol Ahmad Dofiri.

After hearing the verdict, Ferdy Sambo admitted all his actions and regretted having damaged the name of the National Police Institution.

However, he exercised his right to appeal, in the hope that there would be a different outcome, and he could remain a member of the National Police.

Ferdy stated that he is ready to accept any decision at the appeal level which is the last legal step to maintain his status as a civil servant.

As is known, Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo is a suspect in the murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat (Brigadir J), at his official home, Police Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, which occurred on July 8, 2022.
