Jokowi Calls Covid-19 Cases Under Control Despite an Uptrend

The percentage of the Covid-19 positivity rate in Indonesia is currently at 1.03 percent (under control).

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensured that the Covid-19 case was under control even though the Covid-19 Task Force said there was an increasing trend of cases in a number of regions.

"There was a slight increase because yesterday was a problem three weeks or a month ago because we were Eid. But I think this increase is still under control," Jokowi said in Bogor, West Java, Friday, June 10, 2022.

Jokowi added that the positivity rate in Indonesia is currently at 1.03 percent. The rate of transmission of contagion is also still at a controlled rate. Currently the number of additional cases per week is at 20 per 100 thousand population.

"So it is still under control, but vigilance is important. Therefore, I will emphasize again the importance of the third booster injection," said Jokowi.

The Covid-19 Task Force previously revealed a trend of rising daily cases in five provinces, namely the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Banten, East Java, DKI Jakarta, and West Java.

In yesterday's report, weekly Covid-19 cases recorded an increase of 571 cases, while daily active cases rose by 328, or 10 percent, from 3,105 cases on June 2 to 3,433 cases. (antara)
