Jokowi Asks Millennials to Have Digital, Financial and Entrepreneurial Skills

Indonesia's millennial generation reached 25.87 percent or 69 million and generation Z 27.94 percent or 75 million people.

President Joko Widodo said that currently the number of millennials and Generation Z in Indonesia is increasing.

In the structure of Indonesia's population, out of a total of 270 million people, the millennial generation has a percentage of 25.87 percent or 69 million and the percentage of generation Z is 27.94 percent or 75 million people.

This number is an extraordinarily large number. The increasingly dominant composition of the millennial generation and generation Z can determine the energy of the nation's progress.

"Millennials and Generation Z must continue to be supported to get supplies to be able to optimize their productive period, must be financially literate, be entrepreneurial, master digital, easily adapt to digital technology, but still have high social awareness," said Jokowi, Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

Jokowi stated that young people should not be left behind in the use of digital technology. Currently, almost all activities are highly dependent on digital devices.

"Study activities, holidays, investment, shopping, vacations and health and so on force us to be digital literate and not ignorant. So as not to be left behind in various opportunities and opportunities," said Jokowi.

Jokowi said millennials and generation Z must be financially literate so that young people are able to make good financial planning. Young people must also be able to balance consumption and investment patterns.

"The government strongly supports access to capital for millennials, to support young people to be ready to be entrepreneurs and ready to work. One of them is through the pre-employment card program which has been used to start new businesses," said Jokowi. (setpres, antara)
