Jokowi said the land mafia made it difficult for the community to process certificates.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has again ordered his staff, especially the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), to seriously eradicate the land mafia.
Jokowi said the land mafia is a source that will make it difficult for the community to process certificates.
“If there are still mafias playing games, please take that second. This complicates the maintenance of certificates. We can't let the people not be served with certificates, do you agree?" said the President in his remarks when handing over land certificates to the people in Gelora Delta, Sidoarjo Regency, Monday (22/08/2022).
President Jokowi added that in East Java there are still around seven million fields that do not yet have certificates. Therefore, the Head of State encouraged the ranks of the Ministry of ATR/BPN to speed up the process of completing the land certificate.
President Jokowi also reminded the public to properly keep land certificates, which are important documents containing information on land ownership rights.
There are still many conflicts and land disputes in the regions in Indonesia because the community does not hold legal rights to the land. (setkab)
