The development of vaccines is a manifestation of the commitment of pharmaceutical SOEs in strengthening the resilience of the domestic health sector.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) chose the name of the COVID-19 vaccine made by a BUMN under the name Indonesia Vaccine or Indovac.
"We are currently developing a Covid vaccine, while it's called a BUMN vaccine, but a month ago the President gave it a name called Indovac, Indonesia vaccine," President Director of PT Bio Farma (Persero) Honesti Basyir during a coffee gathering with BUMN at the BUMN Ministry office, Jakarta, Monday (22/8/2022).
Honesti said that the development of vaccines is a manifestation of the commitment of pharmaceutical SOEs in strengthening the resilience of the domestic health sector.
Honesti said Indovac is a collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) with a recombinant-based vaccine.
"We are almost done, we are registering at BPOM, the results are thank God, if based on the data we collected during clinical trials, more than three thousand volunteers were involved, the results are very promising," Honesti said.
Honesti targets that Indovac can obtain an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the POM Agency in early or mid-September 2022. (biofarma)
