IKN Nusantara Predicted to Have 1.9 Million Population in 2045

The city of Nusantara will be the future city of Indonesia, which is modern and connected to various countries.

The capital city of Indonesia, the Archipelago, is expected to be inhabited by 1.7 - 1.9 million residents in 2045.

This was revealed by the Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono. in a webinar entitled "Building an Intelligent Transportation System in IKN" which was broadcast on the ITS Indonesia YouTube channel, Thursday (14/7/2022).

The city of Nusantara will be the future city of Indonesia, which is modern and connected to various countries.

It is predicted that from 2024 to 2045 or for 21 years since the capital city was moved from Jakarta, the population in Nusantara City will range from 1.7 to 1.9 million people.

Bambang stated that IKN development is divided into several stages and achievement targets. Namely in 2024, 2035 and 2045.

Bambang added that the development of IKN is not only moving the center of government. But the government wants to build a city based on a world city for all that becomes a reference for other cities in Indonesia and the world.

Previously, Bambang said the IKN development area had an area four times larger than DKI Jakarta.

Until 2024, the government will focus on building the central government core area (KIPP) covering an area of 900 hectares first at the IKN location. The area of IKN is around 56,000 hectares with a total development area of 256,000 hectares or four times larger than Jakarta, and 6,600 hectares of which is the central government core area (KIPP).
