According to Luhut, current conditions also indicate a situation that is close to normal or the situation before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government was preparing various provisions for the transition to a normal life after the Covid-19 pandemic. This preparation is inseparable from the controlled conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
"With the increasingly controlled Covid-19 pandemic, the government will continue to make the transition to bring people's lives and economic activities back to normal levels," said Luhut when giving a press statement on the PPKM evaluation at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (4/4/2022).
According to Luhut, current conditions also indicate a situation that is close to normal or the situation before the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the indicators, said Luhut, is that the mobility of people traveling outside their homes has increased significantly.
"People's mobility has reached its highest level since the pandemic hit our country. This shows that the conditions and situation of the pandemic in Indonesia are very well controlled, which in the end creates a sense of security and comfort in our society for activities," said Luhut.
In addition, said Luhut, Indonesia's economic condition can be well maintained and the economic recovery process is progressing quickly and showing a positive trend since the end of February 2022. This can be seen from the spending index photographed by the Mandiri Institute which increased in all regions, even the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions reaching their highest levels since the pandemic hit.
"In addition, industrial activity has recorded positive growth for 7 consecutive months which has led to increased employment in the manufacturing sector," concluded Luhut. (setpres, between)
