The regulation on the reconciliation of victims and ex-convicts of terrorism is planned to be passed by the end of 2022.
Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Boy Rafli Amar said BNPT is currently drafting regulations related to the reconciliation of victims and ex-terrorism convicts (convicts) which are planned to be ratified by the end of 2022.
"To set up a safe mechanism and prioritize the best interests of the survivors, BNPT is currently drafting a BNPT regulation on the reconciliation of victims and ex-convicts of terrorism," said Boy Rafli at the International Day for Commemoration and Respect for Victims of Terrorism at a hotel in Jakarta. , Sunday (21/8/2022).
Boy said the national gathering, which brought together terrorism survivors and former terrorism convicts, was a reintegration process to look at the future more optimistically and together prevent terrorism crimes from happening again.
"United, collaborate, synergize, eliminate past traumas; and what exists is the spirit of brotherhood, the spirit to build a life full of love and compassion. There is no hatred for one another," explained Boy.
Although the program is not an easy matter to implement, he continued, BNPT has successfully implemented it three times in 2018, 2021, and 2022.
Moreover, he added, in particular, President Joko Widodo also gave directions so that victims of terrorism and ex-convicts could be brought together for reconciliation.
The program will also continue to be developed in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Pepres) Number 7 of 2021 concerning Action Plans for Combating Violent Extremism.
In addition to the national gathering that brings together terrorism survivors with former terrorism convicts, Boy said his party also held other programs in the economic field, namely the Forum for Conscience of Conscience to Promote the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia or Warung NKRI.
In addition, there is also an effort to develop an Integrated Archipelago Area that prioritizes a welfare approach for deradicalization partners, survivors, and the community. (antara)
