37,435 girls and 16,931 boys were victims of violence in 2016-2020.
The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga said cases of violence against children in Indonesia are still high.
Data from the Online Information System for the Protection of Women and Children noted that from 2016 to 2020 there were 49,141 cases of violence and 54,366 victims of whom were children.
In further detail, 37,435 victims were girls and 16,931 were boys.
The data also shows that in general there has been an increase in victims of violence from 7,879 children in 2016 to 10,770 children in 2020. (Kemenppa, antara)
